🛡️💥 If you love medieval fairs as much as we do, save this post. This weekend there’s an epic Medieval Fair at Largo Dom Dinis in Odivelas (just outside Lisbon). Dress up in your best medieval attire, bring the whole family (pups included on leash), and step back in time:

• ⚒️ Medieval Market & Shows: Browse artisan crafts and watch traditional games, oriental dances and royal court performances in full costume. The atmosphere is straight out of the 14th century – and entry is FREE! 🎪🕰️

• 🍖 Food & Drink: Enjoy roast meats, hearty soups served in bread bowls, and maybe some mead (honey wine) – there are usually stands with medieval-style treats. (Keep some water and a treat for your dog too!)

• 🐶 Pet Tips: The fair can be crowded and noisy (drums, horses, etc.). Make sure your dog is comfortable with the commotion. Go early to avoid peak crowds and heat. Many stalls are outdoors so your pup can join, but always ask before entering enclosed tents or taverns.

Exploration Nearby: While in the area, check out the King Dinis Monument and the Odivelas Monastery – great photo ops with your costumed crew (yes, dog costumes count! 🐕🧡).

Heads up: Pet-friendly dining inside the castle walls might be tricky (in case of medieval village events, we found it “mission impossible” to find dog-friendly seating inside historic enclosures 😅). Plan to dine at outdoor stalls or picnic areas where your dog is welcome.
